4 hairstyles to rock this party season!

The festive season is officially here and that means one thing – it’s time to dig out the glad rags and get ready to party! And what’s the best way to compliment your Christmas couture? With a hairstyle that’s bang on point, in trend and most of all, stands out from the crowd.

For us, this doesn’t mean hours spent at the salon. It means super simple styles that you can recreate in the comfort of your home with very little effort.

Here’s our top four tips for shaking things up this season.

1. Catwalk Ponytail

Catwalk Ponytail

Scraping your hair back into a ponytail may sound a little uninspiring and lacklustre, but by adopting the creative flair of a backstage stylist you can craft a chic yet simple up-do fit for the catwalk.

This glamorous s ponytail starts with positioning – aim to fix the style at the crown, as if it’s a continuation of the top of your head. Secure it with a bobble, then take a thin section of hair from the ponytail. Wrap this around until there’s no hair left, and the bobble is no longer visible. Finally, fix it with two grips and a little hair spray if necessary – now get out there and strut your stuff!!

2. GHD Curls (with a twist)

GHD Curls with a twist

This tried and tested style is a staple for the party season, but if you want to stand out from the crowd you need to take it up a level!

Curl your hair in the conventional way, by twisting sections around your straighteners for a flawless, smooth finish. Now mix things up by quiffing the front section and pinning back the sides with grips. The result is a sophisticated style that’s easy to fashion, and shows you’ve put a little extra thought into how to spice up those generic curls.

3. Catwalk Wet Look

Feeling brave? Why not try a wet look – the slickest trend to hit the catwalk this year. Think swept back glossy locks that convey a touch of 1920’s Hollywood glamour.

Blow dry your hair as normal using Evo Shape Vixen. Then take more of the product and apply it to your dry hair with a comb, but only to the front half section of your head. Comb in to suit and your style is complete! Super easy, super quick party hair that brings a sexy edge for the more ‘out there’ festive reveller.

4. Short Styles

Short Hair Style

Nothing screams confidence and individuality like a short style, so if you really want to rock the party look this year, why not go for something completely different and say goodbye to those long flowing locks?!

The best thing about a short look is that it takes just minutes to create a show stopping style. Add texture and shape by scrunching your hair with Evo Whip It Good, a versatile mousse that holds definition without being crispy.

Christmas is a time for celebrating life, so why not step outside your comfort zone and try something new this year. All of these looks can be easily put together at home and having the confidence to go against the grain will undoubtably make you the belle of the ball!

Of course, if you do want a little professional guidance, there may be a few remaining slots over at our partner salon, Gavin Taylor Hair.

On behalf of the whole team at No Ordinary, we wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Have a great party season!!!
